Greg Forman, Director of Education and Training

Greg Forman joined SpineSmith, LP, in April 2006 as Director of Education and Training. In this role, Forman educates and trains both nationally and internationally on SpineSmith's biologics product portfolio.

Forman has spent more than 25 years in medical sales. With a broad understanding of biology and the spine and trend recognition he has gained throughout his career, Forman brings his expertise of medical market trends, short-term goals and long-term strategies of the now emerging regenerative market to his position at SpineSmith.

Shortly after beginning his orthopedic career in 1982, Forman's experience and training in biomechanics of the spine led him to spine surgery. Working with renowned scoliosis surgeons at Acromed in Little Rock, Arkansas, Forman introduced many new and innovative concepts - such as stackable carbon fiber vertebral body cages for burst fractures and failed interbody fusion devices - into the pediatric scoliosis market.

For the next several years, Forman went on to recognize trends and new technologies in spinal surgery and regenerative medicine well in advance of industry leaders - namely the new breakthroughs in stem cell research. In 2002, he saw a tremendous opportunity for autologous adult stem cell expansion, and has since worked as a consultant to help put this important new medical discovery to work for patients in a previously underserved market.

One of Forman's current focuses is introducing the possibility of interventional regenerative medical procedures to the orthopedic market. These in-office procedures would use injections of the patient's own stem cells to keep minor damage from becoming major and actually heal the body. Orthopedics will be the first area of medicine to use the procedure, and SpineSmith is on the cutting edge of this technology.

Originally from Lansing, Michigan, Forman graduated from Michigan State University with a B.A. in Science.
